Nova India at the Jane Austen Museum in Chawton, England
As I was working out on the treadmill in Delhi today, I was watching a BBC world news broadcast. Kelly Clarkson, the first winner of American Idol had copied a ring that belonged to Jane Austen, which she had particularly admired. In 2012 the original ring came up for auction at Sothebys and Ms. Clarkson made a successful bid, however, the export minister blocked the bid as the ring had so much significance to the UK.The museum who had also been bidding was allowed more time to raise the funds needed to match the bid. Last week they were successful and the ring will go to the Chawton Museum. Kelly Clarkson was magnanimous in her delight that more people would see it in the museum. The museum was grateful to Kelly Clarkson that her fame brought attention to the importance of the ring.Nova India supply silk scarves and wool stoles to the lovely Jane Austen Museum in Chawton, England.
